Situated just off Piper Street, Kyneton, and a short walk from the best regional restaurants and shopping in Victoria, you will find Garden Tap House, a delightful historic building situated next to The Garden Tap Nursery.
Originally built in the 1860s as the manager's residence of an adjoining Flour Mill, it was later used as the local Butter Factory, and more recently a Woollen Mill, the house has seen a few changes in its lifetime. Now upon entering you find a light and spacious, house that combines the character of its age with modern amenities. The house boasts 2 comfortable living areas, 3 large double bedrooms (1 queen, 4 king singles), bright country kitchen, large bathroom and 2 toilets. There is natural gas and electric heating, TV, stereo, dishwasher, microwave and comfortable chairs and sofas. All linen and towels are supplied. The decor is tastefully 'eclectic' throughout.
Its location next to The Garden Tap Nursery provides a beautiful botanical outlook from a number of windows. For anyone interested in gardening, or appreciating plants without the hard work, you're in the right place. Step out the front door and you're right on Wedge Street a couple of steps from the corner of Piper Street. Piper Street is famous for its food and shopping. Piper Street provides inner city convenience in the midst of a very picturesque country town and it's only an hour from the centre of Melbourne. (And don't forget Kyneton is in the middle of central Victoria, close to everywhere!)
The house was spotlessly clean and in a great location - close to the shops on historic Piper Street. The house has lovely period features and is very comfortable. Nice wine, cheese, milk, coffee, bread and more. We had a great time
